Fast cars, Throw up, and Waffle Cones
Our good friends Cody and Chelsea recently bought a sweet car, a Cadillac CTS-V! It's one of those super classy-when I'm rich one day- it's will stomp a hole in anything it races-kind of car. so, it's obbbbvious that we all decided to go for a cruise in our race cars (ours being the ole' Trans Am that Kendell used to pick me up for dates in). Keep in mind that car used to be my daily driver even after we were married; however, we have always known that it was no 'family rig' because of its four ridiculously low bucket seats and it's two doors. Anyways, Kendell talked me in to strapping both car seats in (and I mean strapping) and taking a trip to Ashton for a burger at Big Jud's. Madden was strapped in the middle that actually wasn't a seat at all, and Knox was smashed behind me where he literally couldn't see a foot in front, behind or to the side of him. He was completely boxed in. Now, a few weeks back we were coming home from a Palisades camp ground on a winding road. Knox got car sick for the very first time and threw chunks aaaaaallllll over the truck. It broke my heart! This was a complete reenactment of that day. We got on the highway and met Cody and Chels a little ways down. Kendell and I were having a great time reminiscing and taking family selfies when I turned around to check on Knox who had become a little fussy, not to mention pale. I told Kendell maybe I should switch him seats so he doesn't get car sick and BAM- chunks. It was all over his car seat, my seat, Madden's seat, his clothes, shoes- every nook and cranny it could have possibly been in. We immediately pulled off the the side of the highway, stripped him down and cleaned up everything we could. The smell was unbearable but Knox seemed to be feeling MUCH better. In fact, he found a fruit snack in my bag and was stoked! We decided to get off the highway and find a place to wash things up and find some clean clothes. We pulled into an RV place and found their wash room. Kendell scrubbed everything and after about an hour was still finding pieces of throw up. Of course I had forgotten to put more clothes into Knox's bag so we called Cody and Chels who had already made it there to see if Kyte had anything extra. They stopped at the family dollar in Ashton and found a cute outfit for him. When they got there we all sat on the steps and talked about life with kids. We love that they are no stranger to chaos. Life had certainly changed from the young carefree Kendell and Ashley cruising around and spinning cookies in parking lots. We eventually made it to Big Juds and ate way to much followed by a massive waffle cone. It was so good to spend some time with the Barnes clan and after the fiasco, it was muchly needed. The kids played and we all caught up. Needless to say I rode in the back seat on the way home. The airbags were turned off and Knox was sitting high and mighty in the front seat. He could see pretty much all of Eastern Idaho up there and he was in heaven. He violently waved with both hands to every car we passed. He and Kendell sang and danced to the radio. It was definitely a trip to remember.
